Sometimes we get questions not just about cleaning screens (which is something you really need to do if you live in Las Vegas by the way), but also about building and repairing screens. And the answer here is, yes, we can do it for you.

But because we regard our clients as partners and not just as sources of revenue, we need to have a frank discussion about the cost. We can do it, of course, but our advice is to not hire us for it. You have better options, to tell you the truth.

If you really want us to do it for you then of course we’ll do it. We know how, there are more than a few clients who trust us enough to do this task. The problem here isn’t that we cannot do it properly (because we can!). The problem is that we cannot do it cost-effectively. A lot of people ask us to do it, so we tell them that we can, but it’s not the best use of your money. Honestly, we’ll have to charge you about a hundred dollars for us to build you just a single screen. The cost of the materials alone would total about $30. With the labor costs, $100 is just the bare minimum cost.

So what should you do instead? For your most cost-effective option, go to True Value. Let them do the job for you. They’re very good at this and they’ll perform a good job, we’re pretty sure of that and they’ll also do it with a lower price tag attached.

Now we have a client who just recently insisted that after we cleaned her windows, we should    put her screens back on the windows. The problem was that the screen was nearing its death throes, and the sun has caused it to become hard and brittle. Keep in mind that Las Vegas sun isn’t like the sun in Minnesota! We had to turn down her request because there was no way we could do that without breaking the screen into pieces. The screens here simply become brittle, and that’s a fact we need to keep in mind.

So for repairs, we can still do certain things for you. We can perform small repairs, and we can also replace the plastic corners. And…well, that’s it. As we said, we can do more, but in the spirit of partnership and integrity, we have to tell you that it would be much less expensive to just get True Value to make the screens for you. Once you have your new screens, then of course we can install it for you after we clean your windows.
