Moisturize!

Have you ever noticed that when you are doing something that requires you to wash your hand a lot during the day, they get dried out fast? If you are tackling a window washing project (or any project that puts your hands in sudsy water), you should go into it expecting dried out hands. There are some things you can do to help prevent this, however. Here are our tips:

-Wear gloves. Get some of the elbow-high rubber gloves from the cleaning supply aisle of your local grocery store. You can work in water without actually exposing your hands to it.

-Use a hand balm before you start. Burt’s Bees has a hand balm that you can apply before you start. The balm is a hard lotion that will seal in the moisture for a prolonged amount of time.

-Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! If, throughout the project, you feel your hands drying out, take a minute to apply lotion and then go back to work. When you are done with the project, apply a good coat of lotion, or hand cream, if you have it. Hand cream is thicker and will last a little longer.
