Maintaining a High Rise

This may come as a surprise, but maintaining a high rise is no easy feat. There are a number of different cleaning and repair jobs that need to be done regularly to keep the building looking spectacular. However, when the building is particularly tall, these chores get complicated.

If you live in a high rise, you may be curious about how your windows are kept looking so pristine. Check out this guide that explains how high rises are maintained so that you can shake the hands of the next Las Vegas window cleaning team you meet.

Maintaining a High Rise

There are a few different ways that high rise maintenance can be approached. These can include cherry pickers, scaffolding and rope access.

Cherry pickers are a common way for maintenance crews to get up to your windows. A cherry picker uses a crane that gets the personnel close enough to the building to get the desired job done. The primary set back with cherry pickers is that they require a lot of equipment for set up. Often times, that equipment blocks roadways, parking areas or pedestrian crossing areas. It is also an ineffective way to clean because a lot of surface area can be blocked by the cage of the crane.

Scaffolding is another option that can be used to help maintain a high rise property. However, they usually require permits that take weeks to get. Once the permit is received, it takes an additional couple of weeks to set up and tear down the scaffolding. All of that time is spent before any cleaning or repairs are done. There is also significant danger when you think about the possibility of cleaning crews falling off the scaffoldings at unsafe heights.

Accessing a High Rise

Rope is the most effective way for Las Vegas window cleaning teams to access high rise buildings. It is also the safest method because cleaning and maintenance personnel are securely strapped in to prevent them from falling. Additionally, every member of a rope access team must be trained and certified by the International Rope Access Trade Association.

With rope access, cleaning teams are secured by two ropes that are anchored separately to eye bolts that are attached to the building. This is beneficial because it is safe but also does not disrupt life around the building. Once cleaning is done, the ropes and pulled up, and it is like the cleaning crew was never there.

This method of cleaning may seem ineffective because the technicians are not able to bring much with them as far as supplies are concerned. In truth, this is the most effective cleaning method because many people are able to work at the same time allowing the window cleaning Las Vegas crew to cover more surface area in less time.

With all of this in mind, don’t you want to graciously thank the next Las Vegas window cleaning crew you see cleaning your high rise?
