Get a Streak-Free Shine With Vinegar

What You’ll Need
- distilled vinegar
- water
- spray bottle
- microfiber cloth
- lint-free cloth or paper towels
- squeegee
- sponge
- bucket
Clean Smaller Windows

- Prep the area around the window by wiping down the sill and frame with a damp cloth. This is to remove the dust so that it doesn’t end up right back on your windows as you’re cleaning.
- Prepare a solution of equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle. If you want a stronger solution, use less water. For a weaker solution, use more water.
- Spray the entire window you’re cleaning with the mixture. Make sure that you spray enough to be able to cut through the dirt and grime.
- Use a lint-free cloth to “scrub” the window. Feel free to spray more of the mixture if the window isn’t wet enough for you to work away the dirt. If you don’t have a lint-free cloth, paper towels will work fine because you will be drying the window with a different cloth.
- Use a microfiber cloth to dry and shine the window.
Clean Larger Windows
These instructions are for windows with a larger surface area.
- Fill a bucket large enough to fit a medium-sized sponge in the opening with a mixture of water and vinegar. Make sure the mixture is one part vinegar and four parts water.
- Quickly apply vinegar to the entire window with a sponge filled with your mixture.
- Use a squeegee to dry the window. This allows you to work quickly enough so that there are no streaks.
- If there are any wet spots remaining, you can touch them up with a dry microfiber cloth. Doing this touch up will also make sure that there are no streaks to be seen.
