There are times when we’re up against other cleaning companies and our bid isn’t the lowest. That shouldn’t be a surprise, since we absolutely don’t cut corners when it comes to the quality of our service. It’s easy enough for our competitors to put a lower bid than us, especially when they don’t use specialized equipment and they also pay their technicians low wages.

Just like any other service or product, window cleaning services aren’t equal in terms of quality. This means that it doesn’t really make much sense to save a few dollars less in window cleaning fees if you have to suffer from the following problems:

• Incompetent window cleaning, resulting in spotted glass after the water dries. That’s because they used tap water or something close to it. There are also other companies which employ poorly trained “technicians” (I don’t think the term really applies) who don’t know which tools to use or how to use them properly, resulting in damaged or scratched windows. Obviously, the actual “cleaning” of the windows tend to be a hit-or-miss proposition. In fact, it’s probably more a miss than a hit, especially when the “expert” appears at your door and asks if you have a bucket, a sponge, and some detergent.
• Surly or uncommunicative technicians. Our people are true professionals who are friendly with our clients and who can deal with them diplomatically. We trained our guys to be courteous and you can’t exactly say the same for other window cleaning companies, especially to the ones who pay their people substantially less. Some of them don’t even bother to arrive on the appointed time, as if being late is something that you have to live with.
• Improper safety procedures. Believe it or not, some window cleaning companies don’t even bother with using harnesses! Then there are those who try to cut back on expenses by using poorly maintained equipment. Others don’t make sure that their equipment and tools are properly used, and they don’t even train their staff properly in regards to safety procedures. These kinds of failures should be enough to frighten you. Such failures can cause serious injuries and deaths, and the businesses involved may also be forced to pay heavy fines.

So how do you go about choosing the right window cleaner? Although our best advice is of course to just choose us (we’re the best in the business so naturally we’re the best choice!) for the sake of fairness pick two others besides us. You can even put the lowest bidder in the lineup of potential choices. Then ask each one to put in writing just what kind of service they provide (“non-spotty windows” should be there, for example) and they should also write down the methods they employ. Ask them how much they pay their crew on the field and ask for an explanation on how they do their quality control.
